Senior Day and other Random Rumblings

I'm not going to call it senior trip- it's an insult to senior trips worldwide.
Memorable Bits
1. Boogey boarding
2. Sandy, salty, beachy hair
3. Where do you see yourself in ten years etc., sharing with class
4. Arcade with cool shooting game
5. sexual taboo!
6. karaoke
7. nonexistent sunrise
8. sleeping in the most public place ever
9. running into sleeping people everywhere
10. seriously pissed off, swearing, old woman
11. human sculpture in sand!

Unmemorable Bits
1. Waiting for forever at lobby and TST center
2. food
3. lots and lots of t.v.
4. LONG bus ride
5. walking up and down stairs with ces millions of times
6. getting lost for the umpteenth time in corridors
7. fake karaoke music videos with lots of bilkini clad girls who mostly pose but once in a while feel the need to look sad and stare miserably into the camera
err. thats unmemorable enough right?

Pretty satisfying at any rate, and on sunday went shopping with irene and connie- loads more than i needed to know about fashion and anime.

Watched more of the jaded journalist last night- and this comedic spoof of 2076, the worst president ever: Bush... interesting bits:
"war like president who orchestrated the iraqi war, the iranian war, the norweigian war, and the frankly puzzling candyland war...still thinks he is president and still stands by rumsfield even though he has been dead for hte past 10 years....generally thought to be the worst president ever including buchanan and nicole richie who was elected in 2034.." or something like that..

Debate club today about gay marraige, with only 5 people. Very informed proctor, I pushed shirl into a rut! muhahah. Couldn't help but bring up that- "not government's role to protect ppl against themselves again" and talked about obesity, lack of sleep, etc. Looking forward to debate on legalization of prostitution. And debates in AP World class after exams.

ONE MORE WEEK till freedom- AND Oxford or no Oxford for the next three years.

Update on that remarkable thing- life

Listening to: Propagandhi- Rock For Sustainable Capitalism
Reading: (supreme effort at least) A History of Modern Russia by Robert Service
Obsessed with: Spider Solitaire + Shell Powder Exfoliating Face Wash
Thinking about: Well, you know- ask me if you're really interested ; )
Waiting for: short term- Desperate Housewives
moderate term- cruise tomorrow
long term- end of APs~!
(it's sad when long term is 2 weeks)...
Quotes of the day-
"I'm the most feminist out of the guys"
"Er- yes, I'm here"
"I'll have to ask my parents what brand [of condoms] they use- wait- I guess they must be faulty since I'm here"
"nope- it's not censorship, it's quality control"

Random Rumblings

Went to a Mexican restaurant near Lankwai/Soho on Monday night. I haven't had Mexican in ages... since we had an English day for All the Pretty Horses, and before that, in Guilin. The fajitas were so-so, the "banada" milkshake was good ; ) no picts sadly, mom took camera to singapore.
We found a really pretty ethnic shop on a corner with scarves, rings, incense, the whole lot of things. Also found a russian bar, indian shop with a "gay" guy- well, that's debatable- and found an accordian player! Altogether, pretty interesting night.
Tuesday night, learned how to play golf from 9 year old champion (well, fourth place?) golf player on mini golf course, ala the type you see in the business people's offices.
Debate club next monday- debating same sex marriage! Mr. Widdifield is irritated already ; ) As I'm all for gay marriage, I'll be forced to take a more defensive side. SIGH.

1. mature adults- can get married to whoever you want to
2. who's to say its not natural
3. no harm to either party
4. slippery road- same argument as used for different races getting married
hmmmm. more ideas?

Emotional Intelligence Quotient

Emotional EQ of 117, with high perception ;)
Weird questions though, like- what is this man thinking? Or, what do you do about cheating friends? Maybe it's more I'd think I do, or want to do? Yes yes, very Alice in Wonderland ish.

The Politics Test

Well, I guess I'm not as socially liberal as I thought I was! The Christian upbringing coming out. Though the socialist tendencies is quite a feat, me being in Hong Kong and having grandparents that were hunted down by communists. I'm sure they're rolling over in their graves.

This Divided State

Well, here's a toast to the beginnings of the daily? weekly? scribbles of a fadingstar. AND.. ***DISCLAIMER- simplyscribbling is unabashedly ripped off an author's name who wrote Snape and Hermione fanficts- yep- I'm a sucker for twisted romances. Check out her fict (yep, unp.c. here) on fanfiction.net

Tonight- went to a screening of "This Divided State"- a documentary about freedom of speech in Utah. I can't help thinking what I'd say if I were the liberal that Sean Hannity chose. I'd like to see him define Bush's position on WMDs in Iraq, as well as Iraq's connections with Al-Qaeda. It was pretty interesting nonetheless, couldn't help thinking of the Danish cartoons. I think some limits to freedom of speech are necessary.
